Dr. Ross is a pioneering political figure and community leader, recognized as the first Black female candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri's 6th District. In the primary election held on August 4, 2020, she demonstrated remarkable strength by defeating four opponents, securing over 30% of the votes with a total of 118,926 votes. Although she faced a seasoned incumbent in the general election, her candidacy marked a significant milestone in representation.
In her pursuit of public service, Dr. Ross also ran for the U.S. Senate in Missouri, competing in the primary election on August 2, 2022, where she placed 5th out of eleven candidates.
Beyond her political endeavors, Dr. Ross is a multifaceted individual—an accomplished author, songwriter, and ministry consultant. With a passion for serving her community and advocating for change, she is contemplating another run for Congress in Missouri's 6th District in 2026, aiming to inspire and uplift the voices of her constituents.
